Sheonie and Fabian's Swan Valley Wedding
This sweet couple organised their wedding from Exmouth – talk about the challenge of logistics! But with help from their amazing vendors it all came together for their beautiful wedding at Mulberry Estate, Swan Valley.
For this gorgeous pair it was all about family! I loved the heartfelt touch of including vintage earrings on the Bride’s bouquet from a Grandmother that was unable to attend – just beautiful!

THE DRESS The Bride spoke very highly of Charmaine from English Rose Bridal who helped her choose her dress. They have a wide range of very affordable gowns, and have everything you might need such as veils and accessories, bridesmaid’s dresses, MOB dresses – they even have a range of shoes – all in the one place!
MAKEUP Michelle from Mishka Makeup Artistry worked her magic on the Bride and Bridesmaids, including the MOB. They all looked amazing and flawless all day. I will say that I am noticing a trend with my recent Brides to go for shimmery, sparkly eyeshadow – I still believe that the matt or dewy look photographs better – but it’s personal choice.
THE FLOWERS Were organised through Luxx Weddings and Events so I don’t actually have the name of the specific florist involved – but they were lovely roses in hues of red, silver, pink and white – just as the Bride had chosen. I suspect they were done by the creative Dawn (owner of LWE) herself – who believes because every bride is unique, so should her flowers be!
HOW THEY MET They were high school sweethearts who met through family and friends in Alice Springs. It took a while for them to actually get together but that was 12 years ago!
FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO AS A COUPLE They like simple things rather than extravagance, describing themselves as homebodies, a bit lazy, preferring to read and watch TV and enjoy time with their fur babies, a Kelpie X called Ebony and 2 cats. They don’t like camping.
THE PROPOSAL
It took Fabian 11 years to finally propose, at the Lighthouse – where they had their first date when he moved to Exmouth.

WEDDING PLANNER, CEREMONY AND RECEPTION STYLIST Owner of the multi award winning Luxx Weddings and Events Dawn Jackson, not only helped the couple plan many of the elements of their wedding, but was there on the day doing everything from delivering flowers to ensuring proceedings ran smoothly throughout the reception - so the bridal couple could just relax knowing everything was taken care of. As the Groom told me “That’s what we are paying Dawn for – to take care of everything so we don’t have to get involved in any issues on the day.”
CAR The white Silverlady Wedding Car Hire limo that not only brought the Groom to the venue, but also the Bride with her Father and 2 Bridesmaids (Sisters) was organised through Luxx Weddings and Events. Roger, the chauffeur, was very accommodating in letting us take our photos and video and advising us ahead of time which side the bride would exit - so we could get those precious moments captured impeccably. Silverlady pride themselves on their hand-picked, well trained and fully licensed chauffeurs and we can certainly see why - from our experience in working with Roger he was highly professional, immaculately presented and courteous at all times taking the utmost care of his precious cargo – a true pleasure to work with.
CELEBRANT Karli Parker from Karli Louise Celebrant was awesome, not just in how she conducted the beautiful customised wedding ceremony, she was also very considerate of the couple’s photography and videography opportunities which was refreshing – and made her a dream to work with enabling us to get those shots that couple’s dream of!
THE CEREMONY VENUE Suneeta (Sunny) at Mulberry Estate ensured everything was just as the couple had chosen, and she even accommodated our photographic requests of turning on the large chandelier upstairs to get some stunning photos for the couple – nothing was too much trouble.
THE RECEPTION VENUE They chose the Burgundy Room for their reception and it was decked out with white chair covers and rich red sashes. The ambiance was lovely. The catering staff were attentive and the buffet delicious!
CAKE Nadia from The Cake Date created the cupcake tower with a traditional cake as the crowing glory. Being so high it did prove a little bit of a challenge when it came to the official cake-cutting but the couple were well up to it!
MC & MUSIC Jason Taylor from Dream Wedding Entertainment ensured that the night progressed according to schedule and the dance floor was always full!
MY FAVOURITE DETAILS This wedding was unique in the fact that the entire bridal party were all family - so special! The Groom had his sister as the Bestwoman, and brother as Groomsman. The Bride had her two sisters as Maid of Honour and Bridesmaid – a true family affair! I also loved getting a candid shot of three generations of women with their wedding rings – the Bride, Mother of the Bride and Grandmother of the Bride.
I always enjoy shooting in the Swan Valley, even though the light fades fast at this time of year which limits the portrait time and shots you can take. I can’t wait for the next Swan Valley Wedding!
